Great
for few and useless for many (October 2003)
Reviewer: "wartaal73"
This
is a unique book. It give hints of the flavours of
the traditional south-italian cuisine which is based
a lot on ingredients from "the wild". Unfortunately,
this is also almost a useless book as most of the
ingredients are not easy to find (if not going around
in the fields in the south of Italy). Buy it for the
beauty of the book, but be aware that if you are lucky
you might be able to use about 10% of the recipes
and definitively not the most interesting ones.
An
inspiration for food and countryside lovers (October
2001)
Reviewer: A reader
This
book is an inspiration. It is meant to get you off
the sofa and into the woods, active cooking in that
first you have to gather the ingredients. The recipes
are often very simple allowing the ingredients to
take centre stage. It is not a book for everyone but
is an absolute must for anyone who has a passion for
cooking and the countryside, paying homage to the
wealth of edible and free delights available to us
all.
As
always Antonio's love and passion for food and cooking
comes through in every word.
I
know I will be using this book for many years to come.
A classic in the making.
