The Galilei InstituteThe Galilei Institute is one of the most prestigious among the Italian language and culture schools in Italy for foreigners.

The school of Italian language was established in 1985, in the centre of Florence, with the aim of providing high quality linguistic services to private people and multi-national companies needing to learn the basics as well as to improve the Italian language up to the highest levels quickly. That is the reason why the Institute Galilei specialises in one-to-one and small group courses with a maximum of four participants per class.

After only a few years, the quality of the courses, the reliability of the programs, and the rigorous attention to the individual and the student's linguistic needs enabled the Institute to establish a reputation for meeting the needs of some of the leading companies of the world, many of which have become steady customers.

Today, the school also offers one-to-one and small group courses in Italian culture such as art history, Italian cooking, and drawing and painting (taught in Italian, English, and on request in other languages).   ITALIAN COOKING COURSES IN FLORENCE  

Our Italian cooking courses in Italy organized as one-to-one or in small groups, held in the kitchens of some of the best restaurants in Florence. They are practical courses: the students prepare the dishes studied together with the chef. The chefs who teach the courses are professional cooks with a special flair for teaching, and the courses are suitable for beginners as well as chefs who want to specialize in Italian cuisine.

The cooking course program of one-to-one courses is always adapted to the level and the needs of the student.

The small group Italian cooking courses (3 - 4 participants) last for a minimum of one week. The period of study for the one-to-one courses is very flexible. At the end of a 4-week course of one-to-one instruction the participant will receive the diploma of Cuoco di Gala.

The only thing requested for taking our cooking courses in Italy, is that you enjoy cooking. No particular requirements nor enrolment in our Italian courses are requested to attend this programme.

COOKING COURSE OF ITALIAN CUISINE AT THE VILLA

The cooking course at the Villa invites you to explore the Italian cuisine under the guidance of a professional and creative chef, while enjoying a relaxing holiday in the Tuscan hills just outside Florence. The cooking lessons can be taught in English and Italian.

The Villa is located in the heart of Tuscany, on one of the hills overlooking Florence, giving you a magnificent view of the city. Situated in an oasis of green a 20-minute ride (bus) from downtown Florence and the old historical centre, this is a perfect place to live some very special moments taking a rest from the daily routine, and learning the Italian cuisine.

The Villa's atmosphere created by the antique furniture and beautiful frescoes which have been completely restored to their original colours, will wrap you in the beauty of its warm walls. All interiors are decorated with a soft elegance and an extreme care for details.

This cooking course at the villa gives you a good insight in the Italian and Tuscan cuisine as well as a great opportunity to combine a relaxing holiday in a nice resort area with a park, a panoramic terrace and a swimming pool, and visits to the beautiful city of Florence.

Come to the Villa in any season; in summer when a soft wind refreshes the air on the hill, when the sun lazily caresses the tips of the pine trees and the crickets celebrate the warm season with their anthem. Come and learn to make refreshing salads, great range of starters and delicious desserts.

Come in autumn/winter when the fog rises mysteriously in the early morning from the valley and comes up the hill, revealing Florence with the Dome's cupola in the distance. These are good days to prepare some of the warm Tuscan soups that keep your heart and stomach cosy and warm.

Come in spring when all nature wakes up and rejoices, when its fragrance emanates from the flowers and flourishing trees in the gardens. Prepare and eat on the terrace, first courses of pasta (lasagne, carbonara, trenette al pesto) and the huge variety of vegetables and legumes, not to mention our local meat (the Florentine steak).

COOKING COURSE "I 4 AMICI" - MEDITERRANEAN CUISINE IN FLORENCE

A great range of delicious seafood dishes and hand-made pasta are characteristic for the Italian cooking courses in Florence "I 4 Amici". Still, this cooking courses program gives a great flexibility and can cover also traditional meat dishes as well as pizza and bread making. Thanks to the high professionalism of the restaurant and the chefs who teach this course, this program is suitable for both beginners as well as professional cooks who wish to specialize in the Italian cuisine. All lessons can be taught in English and Italian.

The restaurant "I 4 Amici", specializes in seafood dishes and is one of the most renown in Florence. ITALIAN COOKING CLASSES "DA LINO" - TUSCAN CUISINE AND FLORENTINE SPECIALITIES

The Italian cuisine is known all over the world: pizza and pasta have become common dishes in many places. But the Italian cuisine is much more than this and varies from region to region.

The course of the Italian cuisine in Florence "Da Lino" gives you the opportunity of getting to know the Tuscan and Florentine food, studying under a very experienced chef who during the course will share some of his culinary secrets with you.

The restaurant "Da Lino" is one of the best known among the traditional restaurants of Florence. Lino, the owner and chef of the restaurant, was also the president of the Florentine Chefs Association.

The Italian cuisine course program "Da Lino" covers traditional Italian as well as Tuscan dishes, which have been revisited and renovated with the great knowledge and professional approach of a very fine chef. ITALIAN CULINARY COURSE AT "ALLE MURATE"

This exclusive Italian one-to-one culinary course is recommended to those not looking for a classical cooking course but for a real full immersion experience. The culinary course in Florence "Alle Murate" is very practical and provides the opportunity to get trained in the upper-class Italian cuisine by participating in the daily work of a professional kitchen team.

"Alle Murate" is one of the top Florentine restaurants in all gourmet guides of Italy. The restaurant is located inside the historical"Palace of the Judges and Notaries Corporation", one of the most beautiful art discoveries in Florence of the last decades. The precious frescoes decorating the walls and the ceiling create a unique atmosphere.

The culinary courses in Florence at "Alle Murate" are very practical and open only to one student at a time. A rare opportunity is provided of getting to know the life of a professional kitchen by participating with the team of cooks in the daily preparation of the restaurant's menu, from preparing the ingredients to completing the presentation of the dishes. Thisculinary program covers all the dishes of the menu: starters, first courses of home-made pasta and soups, second courses of meat and fish, and desserts. The cooking course is taught under the supervision of the restaurant director, a well-known chef and sommelier.

The course has been designed to satisfy both the simple curiosity which some people have for Italian food, as well as the high motivation of those who want to learn the secrets of Italy's best traditional plates.

The instruction can be taken for one or two weeks to allow for either an introduction to each dish (starters, first and second courses, and desserts) or to give a more in-depth knowledge and skills to those who wish to stay the whole two weeks. The culinary lessons take place from Tuesday through Saturday starting at 16.00 and continue with a dinner.

There is some flexibility in the day of the week that a course can be started.

This Italian culinary course can be taken by anyone, amateur or professional. Enrollment in our Italian language courses is not required to follow this course. This course is held in Italian only. It is very practical, but in order to make the most out of it, it would be good to have a basic knowledge of Italian
