Learn
to Cook in the West country
. . . with CookAbility Residential Cookery Courses
- Would
you cook for someone else?
CookAbility
can show you . . . an ideal opportunity to gain a new
skill that will last a lifetime.
How
the cooking school began
A
change of lifestyle saw Venetia Cameron-Rose and her
family move to Devon in 1997 where she was introduced
by mutual family friends to Tricia Samways. The rest,
as they say, is history!
They
started CookAbility in the same year to teach the basics
of cookery . . . and beyond. This was in response to
pleas from friends whose children had not been taught
to cook at school, and who had spent an enormous amount
of money on buying ready made food during their first
term self-catering at University! Sound like a familiar
story?
Tricia
and Venetia are delighted to be able to pass on their
vast wealth of experience and knowledge to new classes
of young, and not so young, would be self-catering gourmets
through their CookAbilty cooking school and conduct
their classes with enthusiasm and panache. In the busy
months two houses are up and running each accommodating
seven students, and Venetia and Tricia are ably supported
by a well trained team of cook-helpers.

of sweet and savoury flavours to compliment Venetia's
starters and puds. She finds menu planning and turning
traditional recipes into CookAbility specials a real

Mari
Jones - a wonderful Welsh woman who has been described
by our students as an idol, an inspiration and a Goddess.
She has a great sense of humour and has taught loads
of young men how to wash up!
Sandra

of some of the student food recipes. Responsible for
our home made Soup and Beer Bread experience.
Jacqueline
Isdell-Carpenter - from the local Blackdown hills
with a wealth of kindness, encouragement, good humour
and common sense for all our students.
Peter
- Tricia's husband who makes impromptu guest appearances
for a master class in knife skills and garnishes.
Peter has a Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering
Operations with many years experience in the business
