Recipe for family meals :

Wisconsin Beer Cheese Muffin

This is another recipe from Bill Hilbrich from Saint Cloud, Minnesota. Bill says that if you have any questions feel free to email him - click here or if you would like to know a little bit more about Bill have a look at his Bio page - click here.

Bill says: "Here is another muffin recipe that uses two of the products often associated with the State of Wisconsin in the USA . . . Chedder Cheese and Beer. The muffins have a bit of a sour taste, but can be sweetened by adding another Wisconsin favorite, Butter, when they come hot out of the oven ".

2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 cup Beer.
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup oil
2 cups Wisconsin Cheddar Cheese, shredded

  • Mix the dry stuff and the wet stuff in different bowls, then mix together along with the cheese.
  • Spoon into greased muffin tins and bake for 18 to 20 minutes at 400ºF.
  • When done let them sit for 5 minutes before taking them out of the pan.
