Recipe for family meals :

Smoothy Chocolate Cookies

This is another recipe from Bill Hilbrich from Saint Cloud, Minnesota. Bill says that if you have any questions feel free to email him - click here or if you would like to know a little bit more about Bill have a look at his Bio page - click here.

Bill says: "The secret to this cookie is the freezing the chocolate chips and then turning them to dust, because it gives the whole cookie a nice even flavor".

1 cup (2 sticks) Butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoons vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 (11.5 oz) package Chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Place chocolate chips into a freezer until very firm. Place frozen chocolate chips and chopped walnuts into an electric blender or food processor and chop very briefly.

Beat butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl with and electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Mix in flour, baking soda and salt. Stir in chip and nut mixture. Drop by teaspoons 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in a preheated 375ºF oven for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool.
