Maple Oat Fudge Squares

Ingredients

2 cups miniature marshmallows
4 1/2 teaspoons margarine
3 cups toasted oat cereal
2 tablespoons margarine
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups miniature marshmallows
2 cups white chocolate chips
1 1/2 teaspoons maple flavoring

Method
  • Lightly grease a 9 x 13 inch pan.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups mini marshmallows and 4 1/2 teaspoons margarine. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until melted. Remove from heat and stir in the cereal. Press evenly into the prepared pan.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the 2 tablespoons margarine, sugar, evaporated milk and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until boiling. Continue to stir, and allow the mixture to boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the remaining 2 cups of miniature marshmallows, white chocolate chips and maple flavoring. Stir vigorously until smooth. Spread evenly over the prepared crust. Sprinkle with walnuts, and chill until firm. Cut into squares.

Makes one - 9 x 13 inch pan
