Sloppy Joes

2 pounds ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup finely chopped green pepper
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed tomato soup, undiluted
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 tbsp. ketchup
1 - 1/2 tbsp. Worchestershire sauce
1/2 tbsp. prepared mustard
1/2 tbsp. dry mustard
1/4 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
10 - 15 hamburger buns

  • In a large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium heat, brown beef and onion.
  • Add green pepper.
  • Cook and stir 5 minutes; drain.
  • Add the next 9 ingredients; bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve on buns.

Serves 10 to 15
