"This cake got its name because it is dark and white, just like a football ! (At least a Swedish football ! )".

Ingredients

150 g (5 oz) butter or margarine
2 eggs
3 dl (1 1/4 cups) sugar
2 tsp vanilla sugar
2 tbs cocoa powder
4 1/2 dl (good 1 3/4 cups) flour
1 tsp grated orange peel
1 1/2 dl (2/3 cup) freshly squeezed
orange juice (2 - 3 oranges)

Dark chocolate frosting:
1/2 dl (scant 1/4 cup) whipping cream
100 g (3 1/2 oz) dark chocolate
1 dl (good 1/3 cup) powdered sugar
3 tbs flaked coconut
1/2 tbs cocoa powder

White chocolate frosting:
1/2 dl (scant 1/4 cup) whipping cream
100 g (3 1/2 oz) white chocolate
1 dl (good 1/3 cup) powdered sugar
3 tbs flaked coconut

Method

Heat the oven to 175ºC/350ºF. Melt the fat and let cool. Beat eggs and sugar fluffy. Mix vanilla sugar, cocoa, baking powder and flour in a bowl. Stir it into the batter. Add fat, orange peel and juice. Pour the batter in a greased and floured roasting pan, 22 x 34 cm / 9 x 14" (or something like that). Bake in the lower part of the oven for about 20 minutes. Allow to cool.

Meanwhile, make the two frostings (basically the same instructions for both of them, as you have probably already imagined! ).

Bring the cream to a boil in a small saucepan. Break the chocolate in pieces, remove the saucepan from heat, put in the chocolate and stir until it has melted. Mix in powdered sugar and stir until THAT has melted. Mix flaked coconut with cocoa powder in a plastic bag and shake well so that the flakes are brown.

Spread white frosting over half of the cake and dark frosting over the other half. Sprinkle white coconut flakes over the white frosting and brown flakes over the dark (or, if you're brave, do it the other way and spread dark flakes over the white frosting and white over the dark! ) Cut the cake in square pieces.

Enjoy!

Makes 24 squares
