Traditional Spicy Biscuits

500 g cake flour
15 ml baking powder
5 ml salt
2 ml ground ginger
2 ml ground cinnamon
2 ml ground mixed spice
250 g margarine
250 g white sugar
2 large eggs

  • Sift the flour, baking powder, salt, ginger, cinnamon and mixed spice into a mixing bowl.
  • Cream the margarine and sugar then add the eggs one by one, beating well after each addition.
  • Fold in the flour mixture and mix well.
  • Roll out the dough on slightly floured surface (about 5 mm thick) and cut out rounds with a biscuit cutter.
  • Place rounds on greased baking sheets and bake at 180ºC for approx 10 minutes.
