Tuna Casserole

This recipes comes from Dancer and Graphic artist Martin James. Martin, who originally comes from New Zealand, is now living with his wife and children in Copenhagen as he is currently principal Dancer with The Royal Danish Ballet. Being so gifted it seems unfair that Martin should also be talented in the kitchen as well but he has agreed to share some of his recipes with us which is great news.


2 cans of tuna (drained)
1/2 cup chopped celery
3 cups uncooked egg noodles
1 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons mustard
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon basil
3/4 cup frozen peas
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1 chopped fresh tomato

  • Cook noodles and place in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the tuna, celery, sour cream, mustard, thyme, salt, garlic powder, basil, parmesan, and peas. Blend the ingredients together.
  • Spoon half of the mixture into a baking dish and cover with half of the cheddar cheese.
  • Top with another layer of tuna / noodle mixture and cover with remaining cheese.
  • Bake in 350°F oven for 30 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with chopped tomato and serve.
