Chocolate Easter Nests
 

This recipe comes from a book I picked up in a second-hand bookshop - a great source for out of print recipes and for finding that recipe that is a little different.

Ingredients

Shredded Wheat

Corn Flakes

plain chocolate, broken

golden syrup

sugar

1 tbsp

unsweetened cocoa powder

Method
  • Break up the Shredded Wheat. Lightly crush the Corn Flakes. Put both into a bowl.
  • Put the chocolate, butter syrup, sugar and cocoa into a saucepan. Melt gently together. Stir well.
  • Pour over the Shredded Wheat and Corn Flakes and mix well together.
  • Spoon into foil tartlet cases or paper cake cases (cupcake papers) and shape into nests with a teaspoon.
  • Put in the fridge to set.
  • Serve with each nest filled with three miniature sugar (or you could use chocolate) Easter eggs.

Makes 6 nests
