Pommes Croustillantes - French Apple Crisp
 

This recipes comes from Dancer and Graphic artist Martin James. Martin, who originally comes from New Zealand, is now living with his wife and children in Copenhagen as he is currently principal Dancer with The Royal Danish Ballet. Being so gifted it seems unfair that Martin should also be talented in the kitchen as well but he has agreed to share some of his recipes with us which is great news.

Ingredients

1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1/3 cup melted butter
Cinnamon
8 - 10 apples

Method
  • Fill an 8 or 9 inch pie plate with peeled sliced apples.
  • Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and egg together.
  • Place the egg mixture over the apples.
  • Pour the melted butter over the flour mixture.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Cook at 350º for 35 minutes or until apples are soft, (test them with a knife).
