for family meals :
Chicken and Peas
recipe comes from a website called Gil's Portugese Recipes
which sums up in a nutshell what the site is all about.
says: "Being of Portuguese heritage these recipes
have been my comfort foods for a long time. My grand-parents
were all Portuguese. My Dad's mom was born in Brazil
and she was a cousin to the late great Carmen Miranda.
As a native of New Bedford, Massachusetts, I grew up
in a predominantly Portuguese neighborhood. There were
Portuguese restaurants on almost every corner. Portugese
cooking uses seafood in great abundance because of its
fishing industry, so fresh fish and wonderful Portuguese
sausages makes only for great meals . . . "
