Recipe for family meals :

Garlic Marinated Steaks

It is many years since Hub-UK was first launched. It has been created from recipes contributed form all over the world, from professionals and amateurs alike. A great many of the recipes do not have any details as to who sent them in or from where they came. It would be a shame not to share them with you for this reason alone.

This is one such recipe. If you know where it originated, or perhaps it is even yours, let me know and I will add the necessary credits and acknowledgements.

"The most indispensable ingredient of all good home cooking - love, for those you are cooking for" ~ Sophia Loren.

1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 tablespoons garlic, minced
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring
1 pinch cayenne pepper
2 (1/2 pound) beef rib eye steaks

  • In a medium bowl, combine the vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, honey, oil, ground black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, salt, liquid smoke and cayenne peeper.
  • Place steaks in a shallow, non-porous dish and pour the marinade over the steaks. Rub the liquid into the meat for optimum flavor. Cover and let marinade in the refrigerator for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium high to high heat and lightly oil grate.
  • Grill steaks for 7 to 8 minutes per side.
