Bake your own Bread Recipe - the basic ingredients for bread dough

It is many years since Hub-UK was first launched. It has been created from recipes contributed form all over the world, from professionals and amateurs alike.

This is one such recipe which has been contributed by Daniel Mumford who is at present a level two catering Student in Wales.

Ingredients for bread dough

To make:
8 Loaves or
64 x 3 oz Rolls
4 Loaves or
32 x 3 oz Rolls
2 Loaves or
16 x 3 oz Rolls
Strong Flour
6 lb 8 oz
3 lb 4 oz
1 lb 10 oz
Butter / Margerine

Method for for bread dough

  • Make sure the liquid is of a tepid temperature and the yeast is completely dissolved with the sugar.
  • Mix the flour and butter / margarine together, then add liquid and eggs.
  • If making a variation (as suggested below) work the ingredients of choice into the dough and portion as desired.
  • Knead the dough lightly then cover with a cloth and leave it to rise.
  • After 30 minutes flatten the dough once more then turn it and leave it to rise for a further 30 minutes.
  • Bake in moderate oven, about 180°C, until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.
  • Remove rolls from tray or loaf from tin and place on wire and allow to cool.

This will also make a variety of rolls with the addition of various flavours. Suggestions which work well include:

  • Olive and thyme bread loaf
  • Sundried tomato and basil bread rolls
