Recipe for family meals :

Marble Cheesecake

It is many years since Hub-UK was first launched. It has been created from recipes contributed form all over the world, from professionals and amateurs alike. A great many of the recipes do not have any details as to who sent them in or from where they came. It would be a shame not to share them with you for this reason alone.

This recipe is one such recipe. If you know where it originated, or perhaps it is even yours, let me know and I will add the necessary credits and acknowledgements.

"The most indispensable ingredient of all good home cooking - love, for those you are cooking for" ~ Sophia Loren.

1 cup digestive biscuit crumbs
3 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp butter, melted
24 oz cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3 large eggs
1 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted

  • Combine the biscuit crumbs, sugar and butter and then press into the bottom of 9-inch spring-form pan.
  • Bake at 180C for 10 minutes.
  • Combine cream cheese, sugar and vanilla, beating until well blended.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition to make a batter.
  • Blend chocolate into 1 cup of batter.
  • Spoon plain and chocolate batters alternately over crust, cutting through batters with knife several times for the marble effect.
  • Bake at 450 F for 10 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 250F and continue baking for a further 30 minutes.
  • Loosen cake from rim of pan and cool before removing rim.
  • Chill before serving.
