Black Forest Cheesecake

It is many years since Hub-UK was first launched. It has been created from recipes contributed form all over the world, from professionals and amateurs alike. A great many of the recipes do not have any details as to who sent them in or from where they came. It would be a shame not to share them with you for this reason alone.

This recipe is one such recipe. If you know where it originated, or perhaps it is even yours, let me know and I will add the necessary credits and acknowledgements.

1 cup chocolate wafer crumbs
3 tbsp butter, melted
16 oz cream cheese softened
2/3 cup sugar
2 large eggs
6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
1/4 tsp almond extract
21 oz cherry pie filling (1 can)
Frozen whipped topping thawed


  • Combine the chocolate wafer crumbs and butter and then press onto bottom of 9-inch spring form pan.
  • Bake at 180°C for 10 minutes.
  • Combine the cream cheese and sugar, mixing until well blended.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after adding each one.
  • Blend in the chocolate and the almond extract and then pour into the crust.
  • Bake at 180°C for 45 minutes.
  • Loosen cake from rim and cool before removing.
  • Chill in fridge.
  • Just before serving top cheesecake with pie filling and whipped topping.
