This recipe for Golden Syrup Sponge Pudding is a recipe which has come from the Tate & Lyle web site -

I have wonderful chioldhood memories of puddings like this where the tin of Golden Syrup was also placed on the table so we could help ourselves to extra syrup if we wanted to . . . twirling the spoon aropund in the golden syrup and tne watching it spiral down all over your plate. Every plate was licked clean!

175g (6oz) self-raising flour, sifted
15 - 30ml (1 - 2 tbsp) milk

How to make Bread Pudding

  • Tate & Lyle Golden SyrupGrease a 900ml (1½ pt) pudding basin. Put the syrup in the bottom of the basin.
  • In a bowl, cream together the fat and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the beaten eggs, a little at a time and beat well after each addition.
