Adding flavour with serrano ham, this recipe for a warm filling meat and vegetable hash is great for the winter months or simply to use those tired vegetables with serrano ham and turkey. For this simple dish you can use chicken or replace the serrano ham with some pancetta. A delicious winter warmer.

Ingredients for Serrano Ham and Turkey Hash

4 Large potatoes
1 Large onion
2 Small leeks
1 Red bell pepper
300g Shredded turkey or chicken
200g Diced serrano ham
1 cup Double cream
1 small knob of butter

How to make Serrano Ham and Turkey Hash

  • Boil the potatoes.
  • Meanwhile, in a frying pan cook the onion, pepper and leeks with the butter (add a little vegetable oil if required) until softened, season well with crushed black pepper.
  • Once boiled, cube the potatoes and place in a large bowl or cazuela.
  • Mix in the vegetables with the turkey, serrano ham and cream.
  • Fry the mixture for 10 minutes before oven cooking for a further 20 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with cheese and serve piping hot.
