think you'll like this recipe. Very simple to
lbs. small pearl onions with skin on
1/2 Tblsp. butter
1 Tblsp. all purpose flour
2 cups whole milk
Pinch of powdered clove
Salt and freshly ground pepper
3 oz. Fontina or Gruyere cheese, thinly sliced
2 Tblsp. chopped parsley
a large saucepan of salted water to a boil.
in the onions and simmer gently for 20 minutes.
and peel them; keep warm.
the butter in a wide skillet.
the flour and mix well.
pour in the milk, stirring constantly.
to boil and season with clove, salt and pepper.
the cheese and allow it to melt, then stir
in the parsley.
over onions and serve.
