Recipe for :

Bananas with Ginger Sauce

This is one of the recipes which we have been given permission to reproduce by another of the UK recipe sites, Recipes4us. It is a big site with a wealth of information and recipes, as well as a first class barbecue section for the summer. If you would like to have a look at their website click here.

Have a look at Florence Sandeman's (who is the Editor of Recipes4us) Biography page to find out why and how she gained her passion for cooking.

Ingredients

1 tbsp Brown Sugar
2 teasp Lime Juice
1/2 teasp freshly grated Root Ginger
4 small Bananas

Method
  • With a sharp knife, make a slit in the skin of each banana from end to end. Place the bananas on the grill over medium coals and cook, turning once, for 8 - 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in small bowl, combine sugar, lime juice and ginger. Set aside.
  • To serve - place each banana on a dessert plate, open up the skin to expose the flesh then drizzle each with 1 teaspoon sauce. Serve hot.
