Recipe for :

Solo Honey Mustard Pasta

This is another recipe from Bill Hilbrich from Saint Cloud, Minnesota. Bill says that if you have any questions feel free to email him - click here or if you would like to know a little bit more about Bill have a look at his Bio page - click here.

Bill says: "This is a solo, one dish meal, that can certainly be expanded. Cooked chicken could be used instead of ham, and sliced Spanish olives will also work well. Remember, Cooking is a Creative Sport".

1/2 cup cooked ham, diced
1/2 cup tomatoes, diced
1 cup dried pasta, (I like rotini)
1 tablespoon mustard (not the bright yellow stuff)
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon vinegar
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 small clove garlic, diced
1/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

  • Cook the dried pasta in 2 quarts of salted boiling water until done. For me, 8 minutes is about right.
  • While the pasta is cooking, put the mustard, honey, vinegar, pepper, garlic, and olive oil in the bottom of the serving dish, and mix well.
  • Add the drained, but still hot pasta to the dish, followed by the ham and the tomatoes. Toss well.
  • Garnish with cheddar cheese.
