Recipe for :

Chocolate Orange Pots
 

This recipe comes from a book I picked up in a second-hand bookshop - a great source for out of print recipes and for finding that recipe that is a little different.

Ingredients

plain chocolate
-
175g
rind of 1 small orange, finely grated

eggs, separated
-

3 tbsp
-
orange Curaçao
-
45ml
1 cup
-
double (table) cream
-
225ml

 

Decoration:

whipped cream
orange rind spirals
chocolate orange sticks
Method
  • Put chocolate into a bowl over a pan of hot water and melt.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the orange rind, egg yolks and Curaçao. Stir well and leave to cool.
  • Whip cream until thick. Whisk egg whites until stiff. Fold cream and egg whites into the chocolate mixture.
  • Pour into 8 individual ramekins and chill well.
  • Served topped with a spoonful of softly whipped cream and decorate with orange rind spirals and chocolate sticks.
