recipe comes from Mesón La Rioja, a Spanish
restaurant in Marbella which specialises in serving
authentic and popular Spanish cuisine. The restaurant
is owned and run by Elena and Luis Ochoa who have
kindly given permission for the recipe to be reproduced
ltr red wine
1/4kilo dried peaches
100 grms raisins
100 grms dried plums
200 grms sugar
1 stick cinnamon
the dried fruits to soak in water for 2 hours.
the red wine into a saucepan, add in the sugar,
cinnamon and lemon peel. Heat the wine mixture,
stirring continuously, until it comes to boiling
point and then remove from the heat.
the dried fruit very carefully and add to the
wine mixture. Cover the saucepan with a lid
and leave to boil for 15 minutes.
may be served hot or cold as desired.
