Recipe for :

Shrimp on the Barby

A few years ago the internet was awash with groups exchanging information and discussing all sorts of subjects. One of the main areas was cooking and recipes. Unfortunately over the last couple of years contributors have fallen away and most groups are no longer active. As a source of advice and for finding new recipes they were invaluable.

One such group is called SimplySeafood, decribed as "Appetizer and Hors D'oeuvres, Chowders and Bisques, Paella's, Risotto, Pastas and more, there's nothing like eating seafood and I can never get enough recipes. Share your best, your tried and true, restaurant specialties . . . "

Ingredients

20 whole jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 1/2 Tbspns barbecue seasoning
3/4 cup ketchup
2 Tbspns honey
3 green onions, finely chopped
1 1/2 Tbspns worcestershire sauce
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbspns fresh lime juice
2 Tbspns fresh cilantro, chopped

Method

  • Toss shrimp with barbeque seasoing to coast.
  • Thread 5 shrimp on each of 4 metal skewers. Place in a glass dish.
  • For marinade mix remaining ingredients together; pour half over the shrimp and reserve half for basting.
  • Marinate for 15 minutes at room temperature. Drain and discard marinade.
  • Heat grill to medium and grill shrimp of 10 - 12 minutes or until pink, turning once and basting with reserved marinade before the last few minutes of grilling.
