Recipe for :

Baked Monkfish

This recipe comes from Liz Alderson who runs a UK recipe site called find-a-seafood-recipe.com <click here>

The title of the site really speaks for itself but if you would like to find out more about Liz, its creator and editor, then have a look at her page under the Biography section <click here>

Here's one of a couple of great monkfish recipes which is a bake - quite quick and you could cook it with the Vegetable au Gratin <click here> and save oven heat - a word of caution - the oven is set higher for this and so your veg will probably only need 15 minutes.

Use the tomato and wine sauce from the first of my monkfish recipes <click here> to make this another gastronomic delight.

Ingredients

2.5 lb (1.25k) monkfish tail
2 garlic cloves - peeled and cut into slices
black pepper
olive oil

Method

  • Heat the oven to Gas Mark 7, 425°F or 220°C
  • Make incisions in the monkfish tail and insert the slices of garlic.
  • Brush with oil and season with a few twists of black pepper.
  • Place the monkfish in an oiled tin and bake for about 30 minutes.

Serves 4
