endives make a delicious warming starter and can be served
as simple tapas with a little Serrano ham or as a side dish
with meat and fish. After 30 minutes of cooking the endives
soften are become a juicy treat with a unique flavour. Endives
can also be cooked over the barbecue but for this easy recipe
we are braising them with a lemon juice twist.
Juice of 1 whole lemon
Crushed black peppercorns
to make Braised Endives
