No happy time
is really gone,
if it leaves
a special memory
Farewell my friend

Describe the loss of a beloved dog
I'm not sure but I'll try
but first I'll get some tissues
for when I start to cry
then look back over all the years
twelve in all
wipe away my tears
and then start to recall
There was the day my Son was born
I had to leave her so forlorn
Her look just said will you be OK?
Will you be back some time today?
Then the time my Child was ill,
I was up and down the stairs
Who kept a vigil by his Bed
Curled up on one of my armchairs
Lots of years together
Lots of good and bad
But I can honestly tell you
She was the best friend I ever had

She brought our family happiness
a loving mum to her puppies
and a Granny to the rest.

Suddenly she slows down
can't seem to walk so far
instead of walking to the woods
I take her in the car
And all at once she looks so grey
and finally she is ill
You know the words the Vet will say
But hope he never will
So you say goodbye to your old friend
and sit by her until the end
She goes to rest with those above
and takes there with you all your love

Another dog shares my supper now
and sleeps beside my bed
But I know my old girls here too
she is in my heart and in my head
To all the world she was just a dog
but I know different see
Never was a show girl
but a champion to me
